Southampton`s Signalboxes

A Photographic Tour

The photographs on this site were taken in May 1979 as part of an Open University project on Industrial Archeology. At the time they were still in use, although construction of Eastleigh Power Box had already started. Most of the boxes were demolished as soon as Eastleigh took over. The only surviving boxes are those at Central, which is used as a store, and Woolston which has been taken over by the local Model Railway Society.
